Soundscore™ is HowLoud, Inc.'s patent-pending technology to build our noise map and deliver data to users. A Soundscore™ rating is a number between 50 (very loud) and 100 (very quiet) that tells you how loud a location is due to environmental noise. What other single number tells you more about what it is like to live somewhere?
It all started in 2014, when founder Brendan Farrell wanted to find a quiet apartment in Los Angeles. He wanted to know how loud or quiet an area was before driving across Los Angeles to see it. He was surprised that a service like HowLoud didn't exist, and so he built it. Home buyers and renters now use HowLoud's Soundscore over a million times a day.
